Barbs & Wire, Entanglement & Freedom
I was flipping through photos and came across this one, well, this is a cropped version of the one I came across. I looked at the worn fence post up close, with the barbed wire fastened onto it again and again, and the tangled mess surrounding it. As I studied it for a moment, a portion of the verse I came across the other day popped into my mind.
through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses. Acts 13:39 NASB
As I continued to study the larger version of the photo:
…let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus… (Hebrews 12:1-2a NASB) Emphasis mine.

I like your thoughts (God’s inspiration) there. That is good…Isn’t it neat how God speaks to us. He is amazing! Thanks for sharing and encouraging us!!

A wonderful reminder, Jenn. And as I contemplate the photo and the scripture I am reminded that these ‘encumbrances’ not only entangle us, keeping us from the glory that is divinely ours while here on earth, but also, much like the barbed wire, pierce us every moment while entangled in them. While all along Christ is saying, I have risen – rise with Me into glory and perfection.
Enjoy a tangled free day and spread your wings,
Marianne
