Well, I’m either early or the bat/bird isn’t showing up. Mom says she opened an outdoor cabinet at her place and something flew out, hit her in the leg and flew off. She wondered if it was a bat or a bird. Scary thing is, she’s found snake skins in that same cabinet at times. Ick. Don’t worry – mom’s good at taking care of herself. Nothing happened the other day, it just startled her. I think she said she’s going to be even more careful opening that cabinet from now on.
Phones. Texting. We talked about this at the Bible study today. We all wondered what will happen to hands when they’ve been in that cramped texting position forever. Someone said that in short years to come, those with ear buds pumping in loud noise or music won’t be able to hear. Maybe they’ll not need to hear because they’ll be texting?
I was telling my husband about this conversation and he said that he finally came up with a nickname for phones to which we’re glued. He has dubbed them the rude box. Seriously, what kind of phone manners do we have? I know, it’s a worn-out-subject. I’m from the generation who went from stereo to quadraphonic sound. We got lots of razzing about that. But, you betcha I thought THX was awesome when it came out.
But, then again, we have to be reasonable, don’t we? And there is an incredibly serious side to texting and driving. Just don’t.
But what about it? Will we forget how to relate to people? Will we be like that cartoon, what was it? Wall-E? Where the people rode around in bumper-car like vehicles glued to biggie sized drinks and texting one another as they rode along side each other?
The other day I saw this sticker on a truck. The photo didn’t turn out very good. But, it sure made me smile, if not laugh, when I read the sticker off the side of a pickup truck (the rear passenger’s side that is).
Our truck doesn’t have nose art because the Dog Dude stays to the seat or the floorboard. Plus, we’ve recently added a safety belt to his rides, so even if he wanted to get to the windows, he couldn’t (that we know of).
We have bird art quite often, if you know what I mean. Some of them are quiet adept at their art too.
Nearly midnight. No bird or bat. Hmmm. I wonder where he went?
