The Greatest Love.

The greatest love.

Perhaps you are looking at things in this world and wondering what’s going on.  Maybe you have this nagging feeling that there really is something to God.

When God knocks on your heart, there are a lot of forces against hearing and opening the door of your heart.  Misunderstandings abound concerning so many things, because humans are not perfect and there truly are forces against going with God.  Even a small discrepancy by someone you heard was a Christian can throw you off.   Maybe it’s just been easy to put it all off.

I can’t imagine looking at events in our world without knowing what God has to say about it.  The picture that’s coming some day is not pretty.    Being ten-foot-tall and bullet proof, as we often think we are, we tend to think tomorrow I’ll take care of it.  Sometimes, tomorrow doesn’t come for people.  Sometimes others bully us about being religious and all that.

You and I both know people can be very stubborn.  The one thing we can’t afford to be stubborn about is the answer to God’s call.  Either we miss certain blessings (when we’re Christians by tuning God out), or the gift He offers and then miss eternity with Him.

How many times do people rush to get things that are free?  There are two things absolutely free.  Your will and God’s gift of “life everlasting”.   One of the most amazing things is that God made you to decide for yourself.

When you’re looking into things about God, and here, I’m talking about Jehovah God, not just any god and not just religion. But, when you are looking into things of God, sometimes, little fractions of doubt about so many things stump us.  That’s the point of the forces against us.  Pushing and shoving us so we delay or miss the gift God offers.

The main thing is, is God knocking on your heart?  And are you answering affirmatively?   Don’t let the small things keep you from answering.  Today is the day that God declared for salvation.  Now is the moment to decide.  Let Him have and handle your questions, He’ll do it.

I was raised in a home where I had to ask permission for things I did.  When I was eight years old I came to understand love, God’s love.  I came to understand that if I didn’t accept His gift of salvation, I would be separated from His love forever.  I didn’t want that.  I raised my hand to indicate I wanted that love.  The minister inquired with me later as to why I didn’t come down to the front.  I explained.  And, he explained my family would be pleased.  I still had to ask.  Turns out they were pleased.  Not everyone will be.  But then, you are the only you that you have.  And, it’s your decision.

That started my earthly journey with God.  It is not a bed of roses where everything works out all the time, half-the time, some-of-the time, or any other formula-of time.  What it does is give you peace.  A peace that nothing else and no one else can give you.  And, it gives you a permanent, eternal residence with God the Father, Jesus the Christ (Messiah) and the Holy Spirit.  Boot camp does come with this.  Some are better at it than others.  But it’s very worth it.

How do you ‘get on board’?  You simply call on the Lord.  In your way of speaking, just like you’d answer a door, answer the knock on the door of your heart.  If you just start talking with Him, it’ll get easier.  He is very real and He cares for you.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have life everlasting.”  (John 3:16).

And that, is the Greatest Love.  God loves me.  God loves You.

    Hi Jen

I personally don’t like images of chains and so will turn away from this blog. Your butterfly was great though. When Princess Diana died I was captivated by the beautiful butterflies on the buddleaia bushes, it was a poetic moment unlike any seen since in this sublime world.

Hmm. The chains are indeed broken though. That’s the good part. I couldn’t figure out what butterfly you referred to though. It’s still a sad thing about Princess Diana.

I love your comment about two free things in this world. Our free will and God’s gift of life everlasting.
